12 Steps to Owning a TCC Franchise

Our franchisee recruitment process is comprehensive to ensure the opportunity is right for The Coffee Club (TCC) and you. Your decision to join the club should be informed, so make sure you have read up about TCC and are certain you are the right fit for our franchise network and we are the right fit for you.

The application process involves successfully completing the following 12 steps:

Complete the Expression of Interest form here to tell us about you and your passion for TCC.

After submitting your Expression of Interest you’ll receive a confirmation email with more information on Franchising at TCC and the Minor DKL group. You also receive a Confidentiality Agreement to read, sign and return.

Within two business days we’ll give you a call for an initial discussion on the opportunity and your suitability.

If we proceed, you’ll complete a more detailed application form online. We will also request Proof of Funds and Proof of ID at this stage.

If your application is specific to a site, we’ll send you a Site Pack with all the relevant details for the store you’re interested in.

At this point we take a fully refundable deposit — $22,000 for a specific site, or $2,000 for a general application.

Next, we complete the credit and police checks.

We then meet face-to-face for an interview.

Next, you’ll receive a Franchise Recruitment Kit, with a Business Plan and guide to complete.
We also have an informative online training program to help you understand the role of a TCC franchisee and complete your due diligence. Successfully finishing this training is compulsory.

You have made it to the final interview! If successful, we contact your references.

Congratulations! When you are officially approved, we issue you with our Welcome Pack to help you set up your business and prepare for your six-week competency based training.

Finally, we hand you over to our training team who will guide you through your induction to store opening.

Training

During a meeting with our Training and Operations Manager you will be provided with a comprehensive training programme, which incorporates a dynamic mix of theory and hands on learning. All franchisees are required to complete The Coffee Club’s Corporate Education Induction and in-store training, both explained in further detail below. The training period will be an opportunity to learn basic operations, selling techniques, marketing strategies and gain an overall sense of what the day-to-day operations involve.

In-store Training

Your training program consists of 6 weeks of comprehensive training in one of our The Coffee Club Training Stores with our experienced Training Team, where you will work across all areas of what makes our brand so successful. This training is not about ticking boxes, it is about assessing your skills, knowledge and behaviours to ensure that as Franchisee and Franchisor we are a great fit. Therefore, you must be able to be complete the training to our satisfaction and standards.

Corporate Education

This will give you knowledge of our support systems and compliance requirements.

Support

One of the benefits of being a franchisee with The Coffee Club is the high level of support we provide from the very beginning of your franchise journey.

Even once your store has opened and the Training Team leave, you are not alone. You will have access to a dedicated Business Development Manager (BDM) who is your main point of contact. Our BDMs have assisted many franchisees through the start-up phase and will continue to work with you on all aspects of the business. As both mentor and coach, your Business Development Manager will work with you to develop a business plan, which will help you achieve growth and success.

The rest of the The Coffee Club Support Team will also provide ongoing support in the specific areas that you may need, including local store marketing, operations, training and IT support.
