Changing Children's Lives
Changing Children’s Lives is our very own initiative that sets out to provide support to causes that generate breakthrough treatments and cures to make a difference in the lives of sick and terminally ill children in Australia.
The primary charity partner to Changing Children’s Lives is Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia (CHFA). Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia is the national partnership of five of Australia’s leading children’s hospital foundations:
- Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation, South Australia
- Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, Victoria
- Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, Queensland
- Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, New South Wales
- Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, Western Australia
Together, they form the major, non-government funding bodies for clinical research, equipment and patient/family hospital services in our children’s hospitals that otherwise would not exist.

Paniyiri
Gold sponsor of the Brisbane Paniyiri Festival
The Coffee Club was founded by three very entrepreneurial (and proud) Greek men, so it’s with great pleasure that for over ten years we’ve supported the Brisbane Paniyiri Festival – a fantastic two day event that showcases the best of Greek hospitality.
Over 100,000 people come to Musgrave Park in South Brisbane to celebrate everything Greek; from food, to music and dancing!
We have three coffee carts at the festival, and donate any money raised to the Greek community.
Visit www.paniyiri.com.au for more details.
Gold Week
Sponsor of NSW Gold Week (Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia)
Gold Week is the Sydney Children’s Hospital biggest annual fundraiser, with all money going towards helping sick kids get better.
New South Wales Franchisees work very closely with the organisers of Gold Week to help it be as successful as it can be.
Visit www.goldweek.org.au for more details.
Firefighter's Calendar
Major sponsor of the Royal Children’s Foundation’s Firefighter's Calendar
Each year Queensland firefighters strip down and produce a much sought after calendar to help raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Burns Unit.
The calendars make a great Christmas present, so next time you are in a Queensland store, make sure you buy a copy (or two) to help support this great cause.
Since the calendar was launched, it has raised over $650,000 for much needed equipment and support for young children battling burns.
The calendar is available for purchase at The Coffee Club stores across Queensland.
The Coffee Club Charity Ball (CHFA)
Major sponsor and organiser of The Coffee Club Charity Ball for Children’s Hospitals Australia
Once every two years The Coffee Club hosts its Charity Ball to raise money for sick kids at the Royal Children’s Hospital. It’s a night of black-tie fun that is generally held at The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Brisbane.
In the 10 years since it has been held, we’ve proudly raised over $1.5 million for the hospital.
The next ball will be held in late 2011. If you would like to find out more, give us a call on (07) 3010 3000 or stay tuned for more information to be provided on this site closer to the date.
Blue September (New Zealand)
The Coffee Club supports ‘Blue September’ in an effort to raise monies and increase awareness of prostate cancer. During the month of Blue September, five cents (5c) from every cup of coffee sold in all of The Coffee Club stores in New Zealand will go towards The Prostate Cancer Foundation.
In September, landmarks all over the country are lit blue in support of the campaign, including Auckland’s Sky Tower, Napier’s Tom Parker Fountain and the Christchurch Art Gallery.
Throughout September, donations can be made online and New Zealanders are encouraged to go to www.blueseptember.org.nz to find out more about how they can get involved.
Telethon
The Channel 7 Telethon is a registered charitable trust dedicated to raising funds to improve the lives of children and young people throughout Western Australia. Its philosophy is to financially support the medical and social welfare of children and young people, and to fund research into children’s diseases.
Since its inception in 1968, Telethon has raised over $100 million and provided much needed financial assistance to a significant number of charitable organisations, children's hospitals and research/medical facilities in Western Australia.
The Coffee Club has now been involved for more than 7 years, with dedicated staff volunteering their time to prepare more than 2,000 coffees to teams in the phone room during the 26-hour broadcast in 2010.
This year, Director John Lazarou was proud to donate a further $17,000 and help push the Telethon tally to more than $9 million, breaking the previous record of $7.5 million.
